2011 was the first year of the smartphone. I wrote an article the other day about the outlook for smartphone penetration rates, but a new release was released about the usage rate of e-commerce sites, which I was also curious about, so I'd like to introduce it to you.
Via smartphoneECAbout 40% of people have purchased Android phones, compared to about 60% of people who have purchased iPhones...Nobot survey
According to the release, experience using e-commerce sites on smartphones
- iPhone users: 59.0%
- Android users: 44.0%
The results were as follows. This result itself is thought to be due to a variety of complex factors on both the EC site provider and the user side.
- Optimizing your EC site for smartphones
- Payment methods for smartphones on EC sites
- User's own habits
As these improvements continue, I think that the rate will inevitably increase, so I don't think there is any need to say that the current usage rate is high or low. However, one thing that really caught my attention when I read this release was the issue of Android security.
- "Very anxious" 18.6%
- "I'm a little worried" 44.8%
There are 63.41 TP3T users who are at least a little worried. In order to change this figure, I strongly feel that the challenge for the EC site is to provide peace of mind. It seems that Nobot releases this about every three months, so I will continue to watch it.
