I read it because it was ranked highly on my Prime member's Kindle.
If you are a Prime member and have a Kindle, you can read one eligible book for free each month, and it's very useful as there is a fairly large selection of new books.
One thing to note is that there is a one book per month system, so if you want to download another book the following month, you have to return the book you were reading the previous month. In other words, it's like a free rental once a month.
However, any highlights you added will remain, so they will not be deleted completely.
This review is also based on the highlights.
Now, this book is written by a scriptwriter who works on popular TV programs, and provides logical explanations of interesting stories.
It gives many concrete examples of popular comedians, making it very easy to understand for those who are familiar with the subject, but on the other hand, it may be difficult for people who don't normally watch TV to visualize the content.
Since the book is targeted to a select audience, it is segmented so that it will resonate extremely well with readers who can understand it, but since it is a systematization of what the author has learned as a television program writer, there is a trade-off.
"Content of the conversation (choose a topic that you can empathize with)", "Structure and order of the conversation (order of setup and punch line)", "Secret techniques for conversation expressions, etc."
And there are plenty of concrete examples.
