The keyword of this book is "the curse of the brain = biopower." Biopower is the Japanese translation of biopower, and even though there are no physical limitations, simply creating a situation where you think someone might be watching restricts your actions. This is nothing other than the curse of the brain. The book explains the concept of biopower as a brain function, and then unravels it at each level: real society, nation, and ideology. The author argues that understanding it is the way to become free.
excerpt
- "We are not choosing our limitations, we are being forced to choose our limitations"
- It is said that Japanese people have a strong tendency to care about what others think of them.
- "From the beginning, I believed that I could not survive in any other way than by accepting and following what others said."
- In a world where it is becoming increasingly difficult to live in, how can we maintain our freedom, avoid witch hunts, and live without being manipulated by lies and sophistry?
- If young people had financial security, could live in a comfortable room, eat what they wanted, and sleep without worrying about how much they would pay for tomorrow, they would not feel that they were in a difficult position to survive.
- Japan's poverty problem was deliberately created and deliberately left unchecked
- The basic principle of modern psychology is that small penalties accumulate to create a psychological inhibition.
- The implicit pressure of being watched by someone has the power to make people behave in the way that the watcher expects them to, even if they are not actually being watched."
- The idea is to get people to live according to the ideas, ideologies, and regulations prepared by those in power, and in so doing reduce death rates, increase birth rates, extend life expectancy, and concentrate the power of the people more efficiently in the state.
- Almost all Japanese people unconsciously want to bring down those who have a slightly higher standard of living or are a little wealthier.
- Abandoning the social media you are familiar with and moving to smaller social media is one way to escape the discomfort of life.
- Efficacy is the self-evaluation of one's ability to achieve one's goals.
- The reason why people blurt things out is because they have low efficacy. If you have high self-esteem, you would never think of badmouthing someone else. This thought comes to mind because you perceive the person you are badmouthing as being on the same level as you.
- Originally, an opinion is something that you have researched and thought about yourself.
- Even when reading verbalized information, read only the phenomenon without listening to opinions.
- The important thing is to see the phenomenon, take it to yourself, and listen to the voice that comes from within.
- Ultimately, humans have no choice but to choose between two options: either die happily as a slave, or leave that world and die as a lonely priest.
- I think there are two ways to secure financial freedom. One is to start a business and make a ton of money. The other is to get out of the existing economic system.
- Do business where the money is
- My suggestion to him is to set up an English homepage and send direct emails to American investment banks with branches in Japan saying, "Leave it to us."
- The goal is to create value that makes one in 1,000 people go wild with joy.
- Get out of the existing economic system.
- However, there is a way of life that comes close to this. However, this means abandoning the world, so you must be serious about becoming like Buddha.
- Leaving the existing economic system is only something that people who are serious about accomplishing something specific that is not included in the existing economic system can do.
- There is no way that we, the people who are ruled, would choose a government that wants to increase poverty, hide information from the people, or make our country capable of war. If free-minded people had voted, this kind of government would never have been established in the first place. So we must stop wanting to be ruled. That is what it means to be free.
