E-commerce site x social media part 1

Over the next few posts, I will be writing about e-commerce site construction and social media.

First, the first time,

Social Media Trends

Let me summarize the following.

First, here is a definition of social media from Wikipedia:

Social media is a medium designed to spread through social interaction, using scalable information transmission technology that anyone can participate in. Information transmission between individuals, individuals and organizations, and organizations between organizations becomes a meaningful community in itself by passing through web services, and is widely disseminated in the real world and has begun to have an influence. Platforms such as Twitter and Facebook have made it easier to visualize information transmission between individuals, and as a result, social media is penetrating as a new form of media, going beyond the network concept of SNS (Social Network Service).

In short, it is a site where users can communicate with each other and with companies. In Japan, mixi is the most popular, but worldwide Facebook is by far the most popular.

As such, we can see that the source of traffic to overseas websites is rapidly shifting from traditional search engines to social media.

Among these, it is clear that major apparel companies such as FOREVER 21 are already seeing more traffic from social media.

Next time, I would like to talk about some more specific examples of how social media is used.
